Copenhagen, Denmark

The Dept. of Clinical Pharmacology possesses a large laboratory space with access to the following research laboratory equipment, together with conventional basic instrumentation (-20C and -80C freezers, centrifuges, UV spectrophotometer etc.), Liquid Chromatography couples with Tandem Mass Spectroscopy (HPLC with API365 Tandem Mass Spectrometer), 5 HPLC systems with electrochemical, UV, and fluorescent detections systems, PCR and molecular biology tools. The laboratory has a broad experience in running HPLC and Mass spectroscopy/metry and has during the last years developed a LC-MS-MS method for estimating oxidised bases and nucleotides in cellular extracts and urine. Long-time experience with HPLC-EC detection of 8-oxo-deoxyguanosine has preceded the development of the LC-MS-MS assay. The HPLC-EC methodology is still running in the lab for comparative reasons. The capacity of the LC-MS-MS has proven to be quite high.
